Toledo Young Republican Club Seeks Advisory Opinion From Ohio Elections Commission
TOLEDO, OH — The Toledo Young Republican Club has requested an advisory opinion from the Ohio Elections Commission following the passage of a number of property tax levies in Lucas County on November 4, 2008.

Notes taken from this morning’s Conklin & Company on WTVG where Lee Conklin’s guests were Keith Wilkowski for the first segment, then Lori Hauser from COSI for the second segment and for Take Three, Schylar Meadows and Troy Neff. From the Columbus Dispatch, More workers accused of politicking on state time. First the usual cautionary statement, it is not clear which campaign the three Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission employees were using government email/computers to “politic” for. What I found interesting was this:

I make song connections in my head way too often, but I couldn’t escape getting Jukebox Hero in my brain after reading the title of the cover story of this week’s Toledo Free Press titled, Juice Box Hero which is of course about Elmo and the upcoming Sesame Street Live production that’s coming to SeaGate Center.

The cover of this week’s Toledo Free Press is related to a piece written by Michael Miller titled, Ebony and Irony, subtitled, “History Plays the Race Card” that I finally had the chance to read in full this morning. It’s one I recommend you read in full and I’m glad Michael wrote about where his thoughts went after receiving a joke via email that he found not to be funny at all.

What’s funny is I’m sure exactly what he has shared, is being written all over newsrooms in America, just as they have obituaries written for famous people, all ready to go minus a few updates when that unlucky soul does die. Tom Troy could have extended his label of Most incumbents in region facing token opposition to more than Kaptur, Latta and Jordan, which makes for an election season here that’s been unlike any other that I’ve covered since the blog began.
