Stories like this one as reported by WTVG from Bowling Green, really make you think. Three young children aged four, three, and one start yelling out of the window for help at around 8:30 a.m. according to neighbors. Yet, apparently none of them called the police until late in the afternoon, police arrived at 3:30 p.m.:
According to the police report, police repeatedly knocked on the door. When no one answered, the complex manager unlocked it. The report states the three girls were locked inside a bedroom. One was naked and fecal matter was on the floor. In another room, police found what appeared to be marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
The children’s 23-year-old mother Tamra Merrit and her boyfriend Dustin St. Clair were asleep inside the apartment. Both admitted to using cocaine the night before.
