It’s only a five day window and let’s face it - the General Assembly was sloppy…

Back in March during the primary season, it was discovered there was a calendar error made by the General Assembly so that anyone who had problems with their candidate petitions could not run as a write in candidate. The deadline for write in candidates ended before the deadline for candidate petitions. There was no huge fuss, though it affected a few of us. Now? There is a five day over-lap between the date where voter registration ends and absentee ballots can be done in person.
Supposedly according to the Blade:
The Obama campaign hopes to capitalize on a Republican-approved quirk in Ohio election law by transporting enthusiastic youths who show up at campaign rallies to local election boards where they will register to vote and immediately cast absentee ballots.
Let me repeat…there is a five day over-lap. What this means is there will be some who are registered to vote and cast an absentee ballot on the same day, but…and here’s the important part…the actual process as far as registering the voter has to take place first before the ballot is counted and that ballot will not be counted until all of the other ballots are counted. If there is a problem with the voter registration? The ballot won’t count…
