Traffic soon will be going in circles in western Lucas County.
A Napoleon firm has received a construction contract to build Lucas County's first roundabout at a Springfield Township intersection.
For $712,369, Gerken Paving is to build the modernized version of a rotary - or traffic circle - at King Road and Nebraska Avenue.
Lucas County Engineer Keith Earley said most construction will occur during a 45-day period after schools let out for the summer, when both roads will close to traffic.
But trees in the area already have been cleared, and construction will start with water and sewer improvements near the intersection that will account for about $107,000 of the total bill, Mr. Earley said.
